The Overcomers Intensive Family Intervention Program focuses on treating children with emotional and behavioral difficulties. The program works to promote a healthy, cohesive family environment and to prevent the need for placing the child in out-of-home situations, such as inpatient hospitalization, detention centers, therapeutic foster care or residential treatment.

INTENSIVE FAMILY INTERVENTION SERVICES

OUR IFI SERVICES

ODS works with children in their family's home to assist the family and child in resolving the current crisis and reducing the likelihood of recurrence, helps the family to connect with needed community services and resources, improves the client's ability to cope with his or her circumstances, as well as improving the parent's or legal guardian's capacity to care for a child with exceptional circumstances or special needs.

Services are directed towards the client identified to be in need of treatment, but includes the whole family. Children and their families receive time-limited, in-home intensive support services in an effort to prevent the need for out-of-home residential placement.

OUR FAMILIES

Intensive Family Intervention (IFI) services include 6 hours a week or more of therapeutic contact for the client and his/her family over a period of 90 days. Extended treatment may be authorized for an additional 90 days if needed. IFI services are provided by our IFI Team consisting of our licensed clinical social worker (team lead) and up to 3 other licensed individuals. Paraprofessionals will be utilized when necessary.
